About

Welcome to An Aspiring Housewife! My name is Nicole, and I am thrilled that you have landed in my tiny corner of the world wide web.

Who Am I?
I am twenty-something, born and raised in New England. I grew up right outside of Boston before moving to the suburbs. Family was a huge part of my life growing up; every birthday was celebrated as a holiday. And holidays? Forget it. We packed two bedroom apartments full of family, friends and anyone else who cared to join. You couldn’t hear yourself think over the laughter and conversation.
When I moved, I moved away from the majority of my family. While I adore the tranquility of farms and forests, I sometimes miss the busy hustle-bustle feeling of being surrounded by people. In my journey to find that in my everyday life, I noticed that I always came back to the kitchen. For me, the kitchen is the center of the household; it truly is my church. It’s where I make meals filled with love for family and friends, it provides an outlet for my creativity, it serves as a safe place after a long and difficult day. Nothing makes me happier than being surrounded by amazing people, delicious scents emanating from the oven, and a lazy dog sleeping on the kitchen floor.

Why An Aspiring Housewife?
I was born fifty or sixty decades too late. Believe me, I can get all “I am woman hear me roar”, but there’s something about a home-maker that lights a fire in my soul. I love to take care of people. Having a meal on the table at the end of the day is not a chore for me, it’s a pleasure. My peers are an amazing generation- we are paving new roads in society every day. We travel more than ever, we are entrepreneurs and CEO’s, we rent studio apartments in cities where we can experience a culture different than our own. My goal is to use this blog to inspire more people to use food and entertaining to connect. I hope to create a community where ideas, accomplishments and lessons learned can be shared. If you might be missing that “homemade” aspect in your life, you can always find it here.

So, grab your apron and let’s get cooking!
